5 Unexplained Events Around the World

Since the dawn of time, people have always found ways to explain the world and the events happening within it. From our ancestors’ superstitious beliefs to the understanding of modern science that we have today, we always managed to come up with answers to the what’s, why’s and how’s of life. Well, almost always.

From various places around the world, there are still questions that science has yet to find the answer to. Such phenomena are regarded by some as supernatural or miraculous. Whether these are indeed of unearthly origin or not, it still manages to pique the interest of many. With that, today I present to you the 5 Unexplained Events Around the World.

#5. The Baigong Pipes

5 Unexplained Events Around the World - Baigong Pipes

Near the top of Mount Baigong, Qinghai, China, archaeologists were able to find hundreds of old iron pipes that runs through the mountain. The pipes followed a series of intricate patterns that appear to have some sort of purpose, yet nobody has yet to find out what. The pipes were located inside three caves with strange, triangular openings. Two of these openings have collapsed, but the largest one remains intact.

What’s so surprising about this discovery? It’s that scientists found out that these pipes dated back to the prehistoric era.

Imagine walking outside when it suddenly began to rain. Except instead of water, it was blobs of gelatinous substance. Sounds like a scene from a Goosebumps show? Not really. On the 7th of August, 1994, residents of Oakville, Washington experienced the exact incident.

If that wasn’t strange enough, numerous residents fell extremely ill. They reported experiencing nausea and  other flu-like symptoms. When scientists took samples for inspection, they surprised (read: horrified) to find that the blobs contained human white blood cells as well as bacteria found within a human digestive system. Eww.

#3. Klerksdorp Spheres

Amateurs and geologists working in Ottosdal, South Africa were able to find strange pyrophyllite spheres and discs that had grooves that run around its circumference. The objects ranged from perfect spheres to nearly flat discs that were strangely perfectly shaped. What’s so strange about them? Much like the Baigong Pipes above, these spheres were dated back to 3 billion years ago.

And then God said: “Let there be more balls”. And then there were balls. Seriously, what is it with spheres of no apparent purpose appearing out of nowhere? In Costa Rica, residents have discovered perfectly spherical stones with sizes ranging from a few centimeters to 2 meters. The exact purpose and origin of these balls remain unknown.

#1. The Dyatlov Pass incident

Dyatlov Pass incident

Perhaps among the most terrifying and unexplained events in history is known as the Dyatlov Pass incident. One snowy night on February 2, 1959, nine hikers were killed by an unknown force/creature/thing as they camped on the infamous Kholat Syakhl (or “Dead Mountain”), Siberia. When the bodies were found, they were in such horrible states and until now, nobody was able to pinpoint their cause of death.

The rescuers first found the frostbitten bodies of the five hikers, one mile from where they originally set camp. Later, they found three more bodies with severe injuries that was said to have been caused by a huge force similar to that of a car crash. However, the worst injuries were found on Luda Dubinina. The poor lady had lost several facial tissues, some of her lips, and her tongue.

Oh, and did we mention that the area contained traces of radiation? Creepy.

Next time  you travel to any of these areas (if you dare), don’t forget to tell us about your experience!
