What people are saying
As per the Air Bagan reviews I found online, I saw that their previous passengers had rather positive. The airline’s strongest assets seem to be their well-mannered and accommodating flight crew. Here are some of the reviews:
“Flew 2 internal flights in Burma with this local airline. Surprisingly new plane pretty much on time and with very pleasant crews. Also served a good snack gave out towels although flights were only about 45 minutes. Was a bit reticent about using them but very pleasantly surprised.”
“RGN-SNW. Quick boarding with allocated seating for 45 minute flight in ATR72 to Ngapali Beach. Good safety briefing before time take off and light snack and drink en route.”
“When my Air Bagan flight from Yangon to Chiang Mai on 22nd October was cancelled Air Bagan’s response plan worked perfectly. They provided an overnight hotel stay with meal vouchers, transportation to and from the airport and expedited our group check-in process the following day with an alternate airline.”
Their website is quite refreshing to the eyes, thanks to the light blue sky background that fades to white when you scroll down. In the middle of the homepage, you will find a large image of one of Myanmar’s mountains and its clear sky.
Unlike many other airline websites out there, you won’t see the flight booking form in the homepage. To book your flight online, click on the purple “online booking & e-ticket” button and you will be taken to the flight search and booking page. Click here to view their website.

Air Bagan flies to 20 destinations, which mainly flies to domestic routes, except for their flight to Chiang Mai, Thailand. The airline only owns 5 ATR 42-320 aircraft. Their cabins are configured to only offer economy class flights with some snacks, depending on the length of the flight. Moreover, they also offer some beverages in-flight.
The airline’s headquarters is in Bahan Township, Yangon, Myanmar and they operate from Yangon International Airport and Mandalay Chanmyathazi Airport.

Despite having limited routes and a small fleet, Air Bagan manages to capture the hearts of its passengers by offering good customer service. They may not be the most luxurious nor do they have the best cabins, but they were able to provide service, and to many, that’s all that matters.
