Gimpo International Airport
Commonly known as Gimpo Airport. Gimpo International Airport is located in the far-western-end of Seoul, and west of Seoul’s central district. It was the main international airport for Seoul and South Korea, before it was being replaced by Incheon International Airport in 2001. Gimpo International Airport is the third largest Airport in South Korea.
The Airfield was originally constructed in 1939-1942 during the Japanese Imperial Period, as Gimpo played a major role in the Korean War, and the United States Air Force designated the airfield as: Kimpo Air-Base or K-14.
Gimpo was designated as the International Airport of the South Korean Capital City, in 1958; replacing the the existing Yeouido Airport—which was totally demolished since the opening of Gimpo Airport.

Gimpo International Airport still has a good reputation for being an efficient and well-functioning airport that can handle millions of domestic millions of domestic and international customers annually. Though not the most modern, it can still offer clean facilities. With its accommodations and proper customer treatments, a little renovation can uplift the airport’s rank higher; it might as well gather more customers soon after and even rise up to the higher ranks of being one of the best airports in the world.
