Based on this Homeaway review, this is not the only lodging and property rental company with problems surrounding their services. In my humble belief, customers should book directly with the hotels or different property providers rather than putting their safety and convenience in jeopardy.
In the case of Homeaway, it’s their responsibility to guarantee the safety and the value of customer’s money. Even though they just serve as a mediator between the third party service and the customers, they should always take responsibility of assuring customers receive good service.
Putting customers in an unfriendly environment will definitely damage the company’s name. It will greatly affect the long standing image it painstakingly developed for their stakeholders.
