Jetstar is a budget, or “value-based” as they say, airline. They are based in Melbourne, Australia and operate domestically, regionally and internationally. Jetstar Airways is owned by Qantas Airways Ltd.
Today, we will look at Jetstar Airways reviews to find out if this budget airline is really worth your money’s value.
Origins and Ownership
The airline was established in 2003 by Qantas Airways Ltd in an attempt to compete with Virgin Blue, another low-cost airline in Australia. In November of 2001, Qantas bought Impulse Airlines, however, after deciding that they need a low-cost airline, Qantas rebranded Impulse Airlines to Jetstar.
The Chief Executive Officer of Jetstar has been Jayne Hrdlicka, a mathematics and economics graduate from the Colorado College. She is a member of the Chief Executive Women group, the Scotch College Council and is also a Woolworths Limited’s Board Director.
What People Think
Jetstar passengers seem to have mixed opinions regarding this airline’s services. Some people seem to like it while others hate it to the bone. The people who liked it commended the airline’s friendly staff. The pleasantness of the crew seems to be the only good thing, if we base it on customer reviews. Other people seem to be annoyed with the overall quality of their flight. The seat was another major deal-breaker. It was uncomfortable. People said that the seats were cramped, hard and simply bad.
Now let’s check their website. The website welcomes its users with the color orange. Lots, and lots of orange. And although I am not a fan of this color, the website knows how to properly utilize it. On the left side of the homepage, you will see the form wherein you can do your online booking, hotel and car reservations. Directly beside this form, you will see the current flight promos and deals represented by clear images that automatically scroll.
Scroll down and you will see more packages that passengers can avail. The hotels and car rentals are also available. You can check them out by clicking the “Hotels” and “Cars” icons located at the bottom of the page. Also, the developers were generous enough to create a free mobile app for the iOS and Android.

Jetstar Airways offers two classes: Business Class and Economy Class. Those in the Business Class are allowed to carry 30 kilograms of baggage. Meals for the Business Class include a three-course meal, snacks, wine and some freshly-brewed coffee. Economy Class flyers may purchase meals onboard or they may opt to order their meals while doing their booking. Inflight entertainment offers a wide array of music, TV shows and movies to keep passengers from getting bored.

A So-So Airline
Looking at Jetstar Airways reviews online, we can see that they are neither bad nor good. The shortcomings are fairly obvious, so much that people can already complain about it. However, the customer service inflight seems to be satisfactory and the crew are known for being kind and attentive. Overall, I can say that Jetstar Airways is a passable airline.
