Background and History
Sky Airline was founded in 2001 and commenced operations in June 2002 with its first flight from Santiago to Northern Chile. The airline’s been a member of IATA since 2005. Sky Airline is based in Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santiago. Holger Paulmann is the airline’s CEO who has a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) Business Administration and Management from the Universidad Gabriela Mistral.
As of August 2016, Sky Airline has a fleet composed of 13 Airbus A319-100 and 2 Airbus A320-200 flying to 18 destinations. By 2018, Sky Airline expects to expand their fleet to have 25 airplanes. Here is what one of the Sky Airline reviews wrote: “Planes are boarded from the last row and it was well organised. Both flights were full. Planes are in fine condition and clean, there are ads in the cabin but not too many. Seat pitch was better than expected and I had enough space even on longer flight to Lima which is 3h30m long. Buy on board have few options and is affordably priced. Pesos and U$ are only accepted. FAs were well groomed and professional. There was no selling of lottery and similar things, flight deck gave info about the flights and bridges were used all the time for boarding and disembarking. Both flights left and arrived on time.”
