What makes you want to travel? Do you want to experience new things, try some exotic food, see other cultures, or is it something else? Whatever your reason might be, it is widely known that traveling the world does wonders for your health and personality. It exposes you to unfamiliar territory which in return, improves your confidence and your adaptability. However, traveling isn’t the most affordable hobby out there. Fortunately, several businesses began offering cheaper travel service deals. Among them is Travelzoo. To find out the legitimacy of their services, come check out the latest Travelzoo reviews from their previous customers below.
Travelzoo was founded in October of 1998 by Ralph Bartel — also the current acting Chief Executive Officer , a former TV and print journalist. He had an initial investment of USD 10,000.
According to their website, they are a global company that has 28 million members across different locations in Europe, North America, and the Asia Pacific. They have 26 worldwide offices, and are offering limited time promos and deals from 2,000 travel service providers.
They feature flight tickets, hotel reservation deals, holiday promos, car rental services, and more.
What people are saying
One of the best ways to check a company’s quality of service is by looking at the experiences of their previous customers. After searching for the latest Travelzoo reviews, I saw some mixed opinions, some were good while others, not so much. Here is one of the reviews:
“Booked a short holiday via Travelzoo; easy to boom and claimed to have the best deals. Unfortunately I believed this, but 5 mins after booking, found it 17% cheaper for exactly the same package, same everything. One other thing I don’t like, is you can share a link for a deal with someone else. However, in order for the other person to view the deal, they must sign up – another case of companies who just want to capture your data for marketing purposes and then inundate you with emails.”
As you can see, the customer above felt rather cheated with his booking. Other customers had similar opinions, all of which lead to an unsatisfactory travel booking.
When you open the website, you will be prompted to select from a list of countries. This is because Travelzoo has several local sites and selecting the country you’re in (or the closest country to your location, if your country isn’t on the list) will allow them to show you the most appropriate deals.
Meanwhile, the website itself is rather plain — which can be both a good or a bad thing. It’s good because all the necessary information you might need is found in the homepage. However, this makes the website look rather outdated and dull, which also makes the company look unprofessional and unreliable.
In the middle of the page, you will find the top vacation deals that they are currently offering. Scroll down and you will see their services (flights, hotels, activities, cruises, etc.)

Unfortunately, the after looking at the Travelzoo reviews, a lot of their customers seem to be warning us not to book with the company. They may be offering some affordable travel deals, but those are far from being the best.
